Chestnut Creek School of the Arts

At the beginning of the year, I accepted a friend’s invitation to pay it forward. The premise was to make something by hand for five friends without expecting anything in return.

The pressure was on. I suddenly realized I didn’t actually have the skills to deliver on the deal, so I turned to Chestnut Creek School of the Arts in Galax and enrolled in their Beginning Pottery class.

Check out their upcoming class schedule. They can teach you everything from how to make a dulcimer to charcoal portraits and stone carving. I’m here to tell you, if they can teach me how to throw a pot, they can teach anything to anyone.

Want to win $25 tuition to a Chestnut Creek School of the Arts class? Just tell us what class you’d like to take from their upcoming schedule in the Leave a Reply section, below, and we’ll enter you to win one of two certificates we’ll be giving away in a random drawing at 5 p.m. today.
